This tool allows you to find the nearest facility within a certain distance.

If you wish you can first use the ‘Address Search’ to find a starting point for the ‘Find My Nearest’ search.

Pass the arrow cursor over the ‘Find My Nearest’ button, click once with the left-hand mouse button, now when the cursor is moved over the map it will be in the shape of a cross.

Move the cursor over a location where you want to start the search and click once.

Select the appropriate facility to search for by clicking on the side arrow on the top box. This will reveal a pull-down box with the choice of: Library or School. Click your facility category. The default selection is Library.

Select the maximum search distance in kilometers by clicking on the side arrow on the second box. This will reveal a pull-down box with the choice of: 1, 5, 10 or 12. Click your search distance category. The default selection is 1 kilometer.

To submit the search, click .

A results table is displayed. The Distance column indicates the distance in meters from the center of the search to each facility that has been found.

To resize the results screen, move the mouse to the top right-hand corner of the screen. The cursor will change to a double headed arrow and you can then resize the screen by clicking on the left mouse button and dragging the screen to the size you want.

The PlanAccess Map will show the search radius and the location of each facility that has been found.

If you wish, select one of the rows from the results table. For example the row shown below.

Click in the selected row with the left-hand mouse button. The PlanAccess Map will now show the selection in detail.

To close the pop-up window, simply click the cross in its top right-hand corner.
