Zoom Out

This tool allows you to zoom out of the map: it will show you a wider area of the map on screen, but with less detail.

Pass the arrow cursor over the ‘Zoom Out’ button, click once with the left-hand mouse button, now when the cursor is moved over the map it will be in the shape of a cross.

You can zoom out of the map in two ways:

1. Move the cursor over the map. Click the left-hand mouse button once, to zoom out from the map by a fixed amount. (The place you clicked the cursor will now be at the centre of the map.) or
2. Click the left-hand mouse button and keep it held down, then drag the cursor to form a box (example below). When the left-hand mouse button is released, the map will zoom out so that the current view will fit into the defined area of the box.
